Hi all

On Saturday morning I drove up to King Parrot Ck to chase trout, but I guess it was no surprise given all the rain we've had around Melbourne this past week that the creek was milky brown, water flowing very fast and high. Pic below for reference.

I'm sure it depends on a few factors, but how long does it typically take for these creeks and rivers to calm down and clear up after a lot of rain?

On Saturday morning I found it be unfishable, the water was flowing faster than I could retrieve my lure, and it was so murky I couldn't even see my lure when it was 10cm under the water.. not sure what kind of chance the trout had of seeing it.

PS I am new to freshwater/ river fishing in Victoria (grew up fishing saltwater in Qld) so still learning the intricacies here.

Thanks

Dan
