    Well it doesn't make it self righting but is more likely to stay upright if it takes on water.

    You have to be careful where u place the foam especially if u use portable stoves or place the foam near batteries etc.. foam is highly flamable and it drips furiously really nasty stuff when it catches fire

    Microlene foam floatation is fire resistant. I'm not sure if it is any more flammable than the fiberglass the boat is made from.

    Hi All,

    Sorry, didn't know there was a bunch of replies!
    Someone asked for my location - based in Sydney.
    I've added a pic inside the boat showing the covering.

    The foam didn't look like anything special, just the normal stuff you take off a new TV etc. Has the same round cells when bits broke off.

    I'm not sure what the foam situation is under the floor where the tank is as I have not lifted it up yet.
    The panels are sheet metal with the carpet glued on, hence the issue with the metal and screws rusting together.
