Thread: Went offshore Saturday

    Went offshore Saturday

So it rained and the ramp was empty - wooses
Weather forecast 10-15knots dropping off - cool
    Went 40km off Sunshine Coast
    Then this cloud arrived
    Then 35 knots wind hit
    Then Epirb activated
Then in seriously nasty sea and torrential rain rather than driving home effectively I am drying Epirb and trying to call off search and rescue
With approaching cloud of doom. The fish shut down
    Got nothing but survived
Will have to try again another day Click image for larger version.

Funny how it all happens at once.

    Re: Went offshore Saturday

I was going to head out but had the gps/sounders stripped down as was making a binnicale to sit on top of the dash so that they were flush mounted and it took me longer than anticipated but wasn't concerned when I saw the approaching front and reckoned I'd dodged a bullet.

Glad you boys made it back in one piece, hopefully MSA were forgiving.

You will appreciate the good days more now.

Did the epirb activate itself, or accidentally turned on?

    Re: Went offshore Saturday

The water from rain and waves hitting side of boat allowed some drips into cabin straight onto self activating epirb
