Bit of a sortie to our regular haunts south of look out today - no pics ( so it may/may not of happened). After a dodgy start courtesy of a tilt and trim that decided to cease function at half mast at 5am on the driveway, we eventually hit the Viccy Point ramp about an hour later. A good run up the southern bay and through a pretty flat bar was met with better conditions than expected once we got clear of Point Lookout. With the first drop came the realisation that the current was absolutely pumping - drift speed was about 3 knots once you got past 50 metres or so. Soldiered on for an even dozen fish - bag limit of snaps from 40cm or so through to about 4kg, a few pearlies and a nice little Maori Cod to round out the day. Perfect conditions for the run home. For anyone interested in watching mobile speed humps - they are everywhere out there off lookout at the moment.
