    Tinnie Floor?

Is there a composite board that is lighter than ply that can be used for a replacement floor in a tinnie? Some of the hatches are made of a hollow aluminium board but I've heard this cracks on the floor?

Some are using thermolite. It would need to be covered though IMO.

    Re: Tinnie Floor?

I have thick ply that has lasted very well. I was thinking alloy next time around but it would not be overly light. Would prob have to be 4mm not to flex too much. Cheers

I tried a thing called celuka it was lightweight and fireproof but only lasted a few years and ended up with 12 mm exterior grade hardwood ply and it was great , got it from Brendale ply supplies . Matt

Always used 12mm ply coated in bondcrete and then glued carpet down with lots of adhesive

One boat is still ok 20 years later

But then my boats and that one are always garaged
