I vaguely remember reading in a Tohatsu workshop manual how to set the mix ratios.
Do you have a workshop manual for it?
I recently rebuilt my 2006 M30A4.Also over hauled the carby.Problem is I didn't record the amount of turns on the fuel jet on the side of the carby. Any help would be appreciated as it boggs down on acceleration. Thanks

basic rule of thumb for all 2 st carbs is screw the mixture screw/s all the way in, then back it off around 2 1/4 turns. this should get it to idle roughly, then tweak it either way to get a smooth idle!
Brian make sure u use a new mixture screw o ring
I remembered overnight that I had found a FREE copy of the workshop manual for my 50hp Tohatsu.
The whole documents is 350+ pages in PDF is a around 6Mb ... it's called "Tohatsu Outboards 3&4 Cylinder Models Service Manual".
A google search for a 2 cylinder model comes back with:
https://www.google.com/search?client...ice+manual+pdf
And if you select that first one:
www.tohatsu.dk/.../Service/Service%20Manual_1-2%20Cylinder%202-Stroke.pdf
It downloads a workshop manual for the 1&2 cylinder models.
I'm pretty certain that is where I downloaded the 3&4 cylinder models manual.

From memory it has two mixture adjustment needles, one low speed, one high speed then the throttle adjustment.
Be careful which one you adjust on idle, you might lose top end completely.
Jack.
I have a Workshop manual, but it does not tell me the factory setting, eg, the number of turns out from slightly seated. And it only has one adjusting needle.

my yamaha has a plaque under the cowling, which has plug type, plug gap, mixture screw setting etc. it says 2 1/4 turns out which as i mentioned earlier is pretty much a generic base setting for most motors, even cars!
a lot of early Johnsons and Evinrudes from the 60's/70's had adjustable high speed mixtures, personally i haven't heard of late model engines having them!
I'm getting 1-1/2±1/4 from my manual.
