Nice fish well done

Headed down to the Coomera river on Saturday night in search of some mangrove jacks. Prior to this trip I haven't caught a legal jack.
First hit I wasn't ready for and made me feel severely under gunned, smoked me on 30lb and the leader broke on a pylon.
Wouldn't have been 10 minutes later and another line gets a run, once the fish started moving I set the hook and then it jumped... and jumped again and again. Although I clearly saw the fish I was still having trouble believing what I was seeing. After an awesome fight, had a massive Barra boat side.
Got it in the boat and measured 96cm, a couple of photos and once I got her back in the water she was kicking strongly and released really well.
Only my second time fishing that waterway and couldn't be happier, definitely a catch that I won't be forgetting for a long time.
Did end up getting a 33cm and 38cm jack, a couple of bream and busted off again.

That's cool & good on you for letting her go
We can only hope that there is a breeding population down the Goldie

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!
