    Barra holiday

    Hi all

looking to tick the barramundi off my bucket list.
Thinking of splashing out and doing a 2/3/4 day “lodge” style holiday up north.

If I take the bride, things will be easier, so a few creature comforts will be necessary.

    Any recommendations?
what time of year would be best?

    thanks
    Rib

Mate if it’s just Barra you want to chase, since the nfz The Fitzroy and coorooman creek tributaries that go through Rockhampton have great numbers now and also threadfin, I lived there for 15years and the pros hit it hard and was lucky to catch one, just food for thought.there are quite a few guides starting to pop up, I have mates who have caught 1m+ Barra under the bridge while the peak hr traffic is travelling above! And if you get sick of Barra Yeppoon is only half an hr and head offshore to the keppels!

Got this barra over the weekend down at the gold coast, might not have to go as far as you think to get one.

You can’t go past the NT ! So many options and price variance. Dhipirri in Arnhemland is my fav, and I’ve been to most of the lodges over the last 20 or so years. March, April obviously best for the run off (not that theres going to be much of one this year ). Cheers and good luck!
