I catch a lot of undersize red emperor on the close Sunshine Coast reefs at night all year round, must be a place they grow before heading out to the deeper water and up to DI

Hey guys and girls. I’m still yet to crack the Red Emperor code. I’ve beefed up my tackle and upgraded my sounder to a Furuno 588. I’ve been putting in the research and getting out when I can from Sykes/Fitzroy to east of Inskip and searching for that new ground.
Just wondering is there a time of year that seems to produce more Reds or are they a year round fish you just have to search for?
Thanks in advance for any feedback given

Mercury 115ct going strong😁
I would be thinking more about when the weather is best suited for a big trip, which would be winter for me, rather than spending a couple of days battling strong South easters on a trailer boat. The fish will still be around.
