Thread: Navionics ?

    Red face Navionics ?

Is it possible to type up coordinates on a computer and then upload them to a chart plotter, in particular, a Lowrance hook 7

    Re: Navionics ?

Yes. Just a case of having software in your computer that can save a file in a format your GPS can read. Lowrance used to exclusively use their .USR file format but a lot of units now are also capable of using a .GPX ( GPS exchange) format. Their are plenty of programs available. EasyGPS is a freeware one I have played briefly with. I use GPSU (not freeware) though most of the time now.

Cheers checking out easy GPS. I have four pages of marks and do not fancy putting them in the plotter

Out of interest I tried the links but they don't work. But I'm using an iPad so that could be the reason.

IPad, bottom LHC of screen should be a button to optimise for iPad. If that doesn't work search for E Z Mark by Owen in Electronics.

You need to use the google drive link
However it won’t run on an iPad. Pc only

Owen, only use it occasionally now but still find it easy to use. Love it.

Only for the odd conversion if GPSU doesn't suit the required format.

BabelGPS, Pretty good for converting between different file extensions. Have had to convert a few files for friends and haven't had any problems.

I used Garmin Homeport to enter the marks, save as a gpx file then import that to my Simrad unit, works fine. I imagine you can do the same with your Lowrance unit.

Use it myself but for mass entry, a long night and way too many beers or reds required.
