    Sunshine Coast Red Emperor

One of my guys got this red on Friday. Bottomed 30lb Bogas in the boat. Went 14.88kg back on land and 96cm minus the top of his tail which he must have lost as a young pup. Caught on a jig on PE3 in 70m of water at the Hards. Have it on video too. Every single fish there caught on their jigs.

Great footage & catch Smithy. Those jigs seem the go. Never tried it myself, but the way I've been fishing lately, looks like its worth a crack.
That the biggest red you've got on the coast??
Some seriously happy punters there mate

Yep that is the biggest local one I have seen. I got one on the Banks maybe 15 years ago a bit bigger than this picture here with Mark holding it. Mark's was my biggest local one since I have been doing this coming up on 11 years now until Friday. I've got a couple of mates who have caught them around 13kg from the Hards too.

I'd say it was Ocea Jigger with a custom handle and PE3 so 50lb braid or there abouts. Rod would be a Deepliner from their range I would say. http://www.kookaburraft.com/product-...deepliner-rod/
