Are you saying there is no Seafarer dealer in Victoria? not that I am suggesting a Seafarer to be your best option, just seems strange.

Nothing listed on Seafarer website. I will check with one of tbe Signature dealers as they come from the same builder.

I think it's still 200kg max transom weight though which will handle the zuk 140 but not the Merc 135 which is a far gruntier engine.
The zuk 115/140 and Merc 115 are all 2.1 ltr engines and have similar torque. The Merc 135 is 3 ltr and way more torque.

Just noticed JV website no longer sprukes either signature or seafarer as dealer represented. Heard some time ago they'd dropped after going to Merc but hadn't checked.
Sig only list 1 vic dealer - in Warrnambool or somewhere out west, not sure why Phillip island not listed I'm pretty sure they still do them......

I believe they are getting an East vic dealer but unsure about Seafarer.

Yeah I saw the 200kg weight rating, The merc 135 is 206kg.. It gets the HS suzuki competing with the merc 115 and 115 pro xs but exludes the 135 merc due to being 6kg overweight. I am sure it is intentional. It also puts them in par with the Hunter model's rating.

Save your money. Buy 2nd hand. Get a nice hull with an old 2 smoke on it. Re-power with a new 4 stroke for piece of mind and I am sure you will be miles in front. Depending on the trailer you could probably throw a new open channel gal or alloy trailer under it and it would still be cheaper than a new package. The first owner/owners have probably added a bit of fruit for you already. All the things that will ad up buying new, radios, electronics, bimini and clears, rocket launcher, spare wheel and carrier, adjusted the trailer and winch, etc, etc., all teething things that will come with a new boat. I still couldn't come at an Evo after the Dick Tracy saga on here, the rollovers and experience from people who have been on them.

Good advice but I am struggling to identify that good used hull...what year range would you be looking at?

    Move to NSW.

This would be the very top end pricewise but it looks to be fairly well done and is negotiable.
A lot would depend on the motor.

I'll be selling mine in the next year or so & expect to get 5-8K for it.

John what is your price range?

have you thought about the best 5.2m hull ever made?

I am not sure about that, financially speaking. For instance a new 90hp 4 stroke will cost around 15K fitted then you want to add several thousand for a new trailer. All that is putting it up towards the price of a new rig. If you want to save the I would keep the old 2 stroke if it still runs well, avoid rusty trailers, ie shop around for something in good condition as is.

    Re: 5.2m boats

So looking at new boats in your size range, looks like your budget is $45K+ from Boatsales.

    Turn key for $37K.

    https://www.boatsales.com.au/boats/d...15&pss=Premium

Virtually a new motor for $40K.

    https://www.boatsales.com.au/boats/d...15&pss=Premium

$20K with 2 banger for repower.

    https://www.boatsales.com.au/boats/d...15&pss=Premium

    $36K if you aren't E-tec predjudice.

    https://www.boatsales.com.au/boats/d...15&pss=Premium

Only 30hrs for a bigger offshore capable Signature for $39K.

    https://www.boatsales.com.au/boats/d...=0&pss=Premium

    Tidy thing for $26K.

    https://www.boatsales.com.au/boats/d...=0&pss=Premium

Tournament repower option. At some stage they went to all glass in their construction, probably around this time.

    https://www.boatsales.com.au/boats/d...=0&pss=Premium

That's without looking at plateys etc. and sticking to known brands quickly.
