Suzuki 115

Hey,
Quick question. I've got an old Suzuki DT115 on my Ventura. Been a great motor, hasn't missed a beat, hence why it's not replaced yet.
Anyway, its recently been doing a thing where it gets louder for a bit, then quiets down again. Revs stay the same, just the engine noise changes. Not heaps, but noticeable. Nothing else changes, drives the same etc......
This happened to anyone?
It an issue? Or likely fixes?
