    Planning to use it outside to about 60m and in the estury.

    Maybe the question is who uses side scan and if so where, what results are you getting and in what weather conditions?

    Chances are you will get vastly different answers at either end of that spectrum. For use outside it will need some form of gyro or rate sensor input for pitch and roll compensation to be really effective coupled with a frequency of operation that allows sufficient depth capabilities - Furuno as an example. For inshore use you will want higher frequencies that enable better definition - Humminbird, Navico. Somewhere in the middle there may be a unit that does neither end spectacularly well by comparison to others but is good enough over the entire spectrum that it may be worth consideration

    Try shy away from the tripleshot . Ive had no end of dramas with mine!!!, but like I said " guess ys get what ya pay for ".
