I doubt if a 6.2 m platey with 6mm bottom and 4mm sides could get 2.5 tonne unless loaded with near a tonne of water and fuel. Which is possible ( I suppose) My Caribbean ReefRunner (6.4m) has a hull weight of 1020kg--add 220kg for Merc 150 and rigging, 250kg for full fuel ( including weight of tank), 40 kg for panels, wiring, etc, 40 kg for winch, anchor, rope, 100kg for full water tank ( which I will only rarely fill up), sundry fishing gear, 3 POB--gets me probably right on 2 tonne, with everything. And these hulls are built heavy.
I had fully intended to have the weighbridge as the first stop after leaving the shop where the motor was rigged, but we were delayed, and I forgot in the rush. I'm not worried about the weight, as the trailer is 2900/2700, but I always do it, after getting some surprising results with boats past.
And back to the original thread, those numbers sound good, particularly if you got them in the open sea.

Ranmar, take it across the local tip weighbridge, I weighed the GVM, then drove off until only trailer was on weighbridge, got that reading and I have a towbar weight measurer so I could work out total boat and trailer weight. Taking all theoretical weights of hull, trailer, motor gear fuel water etc and weighing safety gear and a few other bits and pieces I thought my 195 Allison would top out at 1800kg, came out at 2200kg before bait, ice, rods, tackle, food etc. I had delayed for a long time doing this but glad I did as I needed to upgrade my trailer brakes and had to reregister it. The local tip doesn't charge for this but it is worthwhile trying to pick a quiet time as the weigh master will be more obliging else it's about $35 at certified weighbridges and you'll get the paperwork as well as being allowed to disconnect the trailer for a correct weight.
ranmah The Caribbean hulls are incredibly light for some reason, my 5.5m no motor but has dual axle weighs just about or a little less than when i tow a mate 5.3m pressed tinny on a single axle trailer
Got a "boat show special" from my dealer, didn't really needed it but if was ever going to up grade then this was the deal to take.
I was happy with the 150 ........ but then i took the 200 for a spin and as they say ... more is more !!
happy with the outcome and if i can get some more cruise range out of it i will be really happy.
It was that or refurb the kitchen and everyone knows you can't fish from a kitchen.

I did a change over from a 175 to a 200, no issues with the 175, just a great deal.. Stats from a 6.5 mtr Haines.

Not to bad Honda , haines might be a bit heavier than my rig but the numbers are close except for down low. the 16 X 20 P has heaps of push down low and is getting really good figures in the 3000 - 3500 range (3300 = 33 KPH 13.4LPH)
Thanks for posting figures it helps to know what performance others are getting with the same engine.

I became a weighbridge convert after actually weighing a boat for the first time A quintrex navigator 600 with floor, CC, and solid ali t-top. Underfloor 170 litre tank. Built a new trailer, (tandem load sharing), put 1500KG springs on it. GTM on the 'bridge was 1500kg. With only basic gear on board. Should've put the 2000kg springs on it. Especially after I went to the effort of weighing every single thing that got loaded into it for the big annual trip away, totalled at over 400kg. Everything weighs something. Which is why i spent a lot of money on the trailer upgrade for the new boat, 2900/2700 on a boat which is supplied with 2200/1999 as the base package.
the 4 blade actually lifts the transom some, actually making it ride better as well, the 4 blade on my old 555 yalta had the same effect. No issues with speed out of the hole and yes quite a bit heavier..
