I thought i was buying 4 litres in total but its actually 5.33 litres which is huge the tins are massive

It says to mix 2:1, but one ting is 4 litres the other tin is 1.33 litres, shouldnt it be 4 litres and 2 litres? If its 2:1 ratio?

Yeah it says 2:1 i contacted the place i got the paint from and they said the bottom tin contains 2.66L but these tins are huge that bottom tin is way bigger than 2.66L its more like 4-5L unless they have only half filled the tins but who does that?

Is the idea that you tip the whole tin of hardener into the larger tin? I donít think thatís a very good idea though.

thats exactly what you do the big tin isnt full
4l doesnt go far depending on how you apply it

I guess the only trouble is being able to use it all in time

Ahh so thats how it is, the paint has a pot life of 7 or 8 hours from memory

What is the life after mixing? Might pay to do half, then guess how much you need to mix to finish, rather than just mix the lot and have it go off half way through.

You can buy a one litre mixing cup that has markings on the side, it is also good so you can add the correct amount of thinners.

When i used the northane for my transom i bought the 1L tin and both tins were full to the top thatis why i thought if this 4L is full as well thats a crap load of paint

Noel the pot life is 8 hours at 24c @ 2:1

I was using those ratio cups for my epoxy resin but the ratios are nit correct 5:1 ismore like 3.8:1 i kept running out of hardener throught this build the only good cups i purchased were thru trojan fibreglass there 5:1 ratio cups were exactly correct

Ahh well i'll see how i go, today im planning on sanding right up under my gunnels than a big vacuum and i will glue in my gunnel brackets let it cure overnight and glass them tomorrow

Only one stage after that will be a huge sand of everything internally walls, floor, braces, remove all the carpet glue in the bow, sand the black back side walls, sand all the fuel compartment, sand transom

All in prep to paint, i forgot somewhere in there i will patch that cut out from the anchor locker vertical wall before i paint

Lots of work but i cant wait to see it painted

I am like a roast turkey outside 6:30pm 36 degrees!!! I got the walls and under the gunnel sanded earlier i wiped all the sanded patches with acetone and the braces than i placed all the braces in place, now about to go out and fillet all the joints and let it go off for the night

Abit anal about getting the braces slightly tilted and crooked.. but i think its just one of those things u throw in and call it done

    Pics coming later tonight

Supposed to be even hotter out your way tomorrow, we had a pretty strong sea breeze (more like a wind) all day, never got over 26 here, hope it keeps up tomorrow too.

Was pretty hot today im glad i installed my little vertical window air con for my mum and my sister gave my mum another portable air con that works really well so we have most of the house covered

Got my braces in my resin was warm like a 8min old tea i started mixing up my glue and instantly had to rush by the time i got the mix in the piping bag it was easy like hot mash patato than half way through using 1 bag per brace the bag got so hot i had to chuck a couple in the mixing cup i couldnt hang onto it it was so hot, im talking 6-7mins from the beginning into a piping bag this resin was just shooting for the sun the mixing cups with the bags were smoking at around 15mins after mixing cup bottoms were bolging

I now need the resin to cure than sand the fillets and radius the front edges than im glassing again

Anyhow the pics im happy with the half finished job
