Why not go down to a cardboard recycling drop off point and find a tv box there. Gotta be big enough.

You could also go to Bunnings and get some carpet scissors. Not expensive but would cut cardboard well

Just not thinking today... the kaycel came with two cardboard sheets as protection faces i'll use those

Mostly awake at night i just need to find a couple daylight hours to grind in and cut the kaycel than i'll be working at night

Wish i lived on a farm i would be out there at 3am with the circular saw going flat out

So cut the scarfs first - that way there is no back to front - you can just turn the sheet over if you get it arse about and provided the angles are right it will match. Then once you have it all laid out as one, put your template over it. Then add a decent knee brace internally where the joins are.

Easier to use than card board is the cheap5mm Masonite. Cut it into lengths of 50mm wide and use a hot glue gun to glue them together. Run them around the outside of your transom and that is your template.

Scott i have to cut out the pieces individually to fit 1 transom per 1200x1200mm sheet a bit tricky so the cuts wont be back to back as i have to rotate the templates to best fit the sheet

So cut your templates an extra width where the scarf joint will be so you wont be short.

When I have to do 45 degree "mitres" or scarfs in this case, I just lay the two pieces as they will be, the draw a line across both to indicate the direction of the cut, it's easy to get confused with angle cuts, especially if material is limited, and pieces can't be just turned over, anyone who has done work with quad (quarter round) and mitres will know how tricky it is.....

Re: Vintage Inboard Cruisers to Centre Console Conversion

Yeah what i am thinkining i may have problems with the 45 degree cut is one side will need to be cut away from me and the other side cut towards me than it gets tricky as i will have other angle cuts that may not be to or from me just to be able to fit the shape on tge sheet

    I hope i dont ..... it up

It's easy enough, just mark everything up or inside etc that way there's no guessing which way things go, mind you, I fitted a door at my sons place the other day, giving him "lessons" as we went, ended up putting the door on reversed, so the lock side was where the hinges were, the handle/lock went through a few mm of timber and cardboard, the hole was easy to drill though.......
