Thread: Yamaha motor support when on trailer?

  1. #1

Question Yamaha motor support when on trailer?

Hey, I recently put a new motor on my boat, a Yammy 130 4stroke. Awesome and love it.

My previous motor had a trailer position support bracket built in but still meant all load on transom.

What do people do with their Yamaha's when on the trailer? I have a drive on Dunbier trailer.

If you have clearance, just trailer with the motor down, or at least on the trim rams

    Not enough clearance.

Mate just stick a rubber trailer roller on the tilt shaft and bottom motor out against that. I have always done that with my 115 2 stroke Yammy and the rubber protects the motor from vibration and shock. Cheers

Go to Clarke rubber and buy some docking rubber, cut to required length, place over rams and trim down. Cheap and will do the job.

Pretty sure the 130 Yammy is a single trim ram and will need a product called "MY WEDGE" or similar construction to be any use at all

If you can get hold of a piece of 10 mm ally you could make a bracket that locks into place, have a look where the motor locks into the bracket and you will see there is a groove you can lock the plate into. I'll be making mine shortly.

I prefer the rubber trailer roller on the tilt ram because it absorbs shock. Cheers

For $12 and free postage you can get a rubber trailer roller 8 inch long on ebay. Just as affective. You only need one.

This wont work on a single ram and neither will an 8" roller
