    trolling around cape moreton

can any one tell me if theres any thing worth trolling for in july around moreton I'm going to be fishing for snapper shallow and deep tempest, and wondered if its worth dragging a lure for awhile on way home.

Whales are plentiful this time of year, just have to make sure you have a decent combo with plenty of drag

Always a chance of a mac tuna or longtail. Between the Cape and Smiths and between Flinders and Hutchies are good areas.

Worth a troll if birds are showing good signs or you find bait balls while traversing the area. Our best Spanish macks(20+ kg)have been bait balls on the sounder that we have turned around on and trolled over. It's easier if you keep dedicated trolling gear ready to go.
