US spec icom IC-424G VHF - will it work in Aus?

Hi guys, just a quick one I was hoping the experts might have some steer on.

I have family in the US who are looking to buy me a VHF for the boat, the new icom models are out over there (specifically the 424G), can anyone tell me if I'll run into any issues installing one bought from the US and operating it in Aus waters?

    Thanks

just need to select the international channels from within the menu (download the manual, have a look and there will be a way to change the channel list to international from USA)

Yes it will, as stated you just need to change to international freqs. Easy to do.
Remember to always log on before heading offshore.

Just make sure it is a genuine Icom. There have been copies of previous models.

Thanks yeah good advice, I think they're buying from Walmart so should be ok if so.
