Upgrade Furuno Fv620 to new combo?

Ilove my Furuno Fv620 sounder. mainly because I am used to it and know what it's telling me. Problem is I have had this hooked up to a Garmin GPS72, great for keeping waypoints but no map capability. No problem I thought at the time, when I need a chartplotter I will buy one. Trouble is everything is a combo unit now.
Question is , do I keep the Furuno and get a cheap combo for charts only,
or are the new combo units now equal to or better than the Furuno. I am rarely in water over 30 metres nowdays any way. What do you think?

Mate I'm just about to upgrade my electronics and will be going a fcv 588 and a hds 9 mainly to be used as a plotter only as I like the navionics charts and I want to hook up a couple of ep 60's to the motors for fuel monitoring
