    Boat Ramps around Batemans Bay

    Good afternoon fellow fishing people.

I'm not happy, I'm staying at South Durras (just nth of Batemans Bay - which I have done annually for a bloody long time)

I've got a Seafarer V-Sea (5m) and although it is low tide I've just been around to the boat ramp near that Murramarang Resort and there is no way I could put my boat in there at the moment.

All and I mean all the sand has been a washed away leaving large exposed rocks.

The way it looks I would not be to keen even at high tide.

You would think the local council would be all over this with Easter just around the corner and all the boats that are usually in the area.

Enough of a whinge, are there any locals here that can recommend decent ramps in the area. Sand is ok

Guess you know about the one on the south side of the river at Nelligen, might be too far up river for you.

Hanging rock boat ramp would be the pick. Plenty of parking, coastguard is there, has pontoons, toilets etc... https://goo.gl/maps/XtR7mKUQVwB2

If you wanted a sandy ramp, then there are two ramps near the bridge - this one on the northern side https://goo.gl/maps/zm2Gy5m1Far and this one on the southern side https://goo.gl/maps/gLEmg1PMKB32.

And if you are talking about launching at this ramp at Murramarang https://goo.gl/maps/sPpD7z4KDeD2, I've launched there once and never again. As Littlejim said, there is the Nelligen ramp, but thats a way up the Clyde and is best served if all you want to do is fish the river https://goo.gl/maps/9gY4xQwEguS2.

If you fish in Batemans bay, look out for the sanctuary zones http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/__data/ass...zoning-map.pdf.

If you didn't want to fish the Clyde or Batemans bay, then you could go further south to Moruya. Here https://goo.gl/maps/VTpaCFpLoD22 or closer to the heads https://goo.gl/maps/Pw5yzuETeCo

Further north at Ulladulla harbour you have ocean access with no sand bar.
I use Jervis bay but that's probably too far north for you.
If you follow the river on Raylamp's map down to the town there appears to be a ramp east of the bridge. No guarantees though, my eyes are getting a bit ancient.

we used to launch and retrieve on the beach next to the rocks when the ramp was too busy, is that not possible atm? admitted, we didn't have a 5m glass boat!

For anyone interested in coming here in the near future this what the South Durras boat ramps look like at the moment

Not a picture Batemans Bay Council or Murramarang Resort would use to try and attract tourists to the area
