I couldn't open that link unfortunately ?
But sure does sound like the perfect purchase !!!.
I'm sort of the same as you I think, I love the older hulls. A lot of my mates bag me for having an older boat, amongst there new flash u-bute rigs, but non of them complained at all while out with me, be it, locally or out wide, in fact a few moaned to the fact I spent 1/3 of what they did and the handling surprised them as well as
the fishing space. Mine is in great condition cosmetically, just the un seen stuff that unfortunately let it down.
I suppose if I'd of forked out the coin for a new rig I'd be pretty happy as well,,,, But where's the challenge !!!!!!
Theres just something about the lines of an older hull, each to there own though.

Hi Ranmar
I had a Swiftcraft Falcon that I used to fish and do other things too.
Knew it was time for a bigger boat when I kept getting greenies sliding up the screen and dropping into the boat.
Nice and stable but .................

Falcon? What size where they?
About 15 ft ish from memory.
My uses well and truly exceeded its capability...........SwiftCraft Falcon 1000 resized.jpg

We had the same boat! My grandad had it in the 70's in Hervey Bay as a whiting slayer, when he passed it wasn't worth anything so I brought it down to Brisbane, stripped the windscreen off it and called it a Moreton bay boat. I knew it was time to move onto the next project when the back to back seat fell through the floor in some chop running home from the artificial reef one day. The old Falcon still holds a special place in my heart though. Our's was repowered with a '78 evinrude 55.
Even the trailer is the same with the guides.

It was initially used as a water skiing rig for much of the time on the Murray at Mildura but after moving south it ended up fishing all over the place including Portland the home of big greenies heading out from the harbour past the rock. Wet feet were not enjoyed along with wet everything else.
Bigger was certainly better and safer away from the Murray.

Yes, I capped a couple of waves in the bay too. Not a whole lot of Archimedes to displace in those little things before they run out of them haha.
