    5/3/17 Northern Bay

    Don't get excited.... caught nothing

Started 5am to fish the early low tide. Ended up fishing the next high as well.
No bait on first spot, sounder shows no predator also.
Moved on to channel markers, no bait on first couple markers.
Managed to catch a few herring and yakka right against to third marker.

Drifted solid 7 hours all day non-stop at few different locations.
    Not even a single touch.

Hardly any bait on the bottom throughout the bay.
No surface activity mackerel or tuna. Only saw a small group of small macks out from Tangalooma, doesn't worth wasting time.

I was drifting though a windlane middle of the day.
Weird thing is I counted at least 50 different groups of hardy head schools going past me that were happily slurping on surface with no predator chasing them.

    Anybody else was out?

Went out yesterday. Hard work. Managed one school mackerel to keep and a few undersized. Hooked something i couldn't stop on 15kg line. Plenty of bait at the beacons.

We spent last night at Bulwer - the undersize brigade ( released) consisted of snaps grassies , red emperor 42 cm, spangled emperor and a large ish morwong/ slatey bream/ blackall.
Did some beacon bashing and chased smallish tuna - fussy- no luck. Fait bit of bait near northern beacons.
