Fishing Cape York and the Torres strait during the wet.

The wet season is the best time of year to be up north. In between the heavy falls of rain and squalls the seas turn glassy and we get the opportunity to explore a little wider. April-November the SE trade winds blow 25 knots + relentlessly so we stick close to Thursday Island or venture down the westcoast of the Cape where it is somewhat protected.

I would have to agree. We are on Mornington island in the southern gulf. Fairly protected from the SE but N can give us a bit of grief. Plenty of spots to hide. Really interesting to see the calm between the storms.
