    Diamond Trevally Great eating grilled whole on hot coals with a splash of olive oil after removing from the coals. yum yum

    It is the common ponyfish Leiognathus equulus.

    Agree with Daryl McPhee phantomphisher, get plenty of them in the cast net when chasing bait.

    Definitely not a diamond trevally but a pony fish, mouth extends right out and I don't know anyone who eats them. Pony fish are of the Leiognithidae family.

    Diamond trevally have a complete different body shape including the long trailing filaments on its fins.
