Common old Green Toad, probably got a fancy name, but that's what the common name is, they can bite right through wire, and fingers.....
I pulled this vicious looking bruiser up in about 8 Meters of water 1Km South of Peel Is. this morning. he has a smooth skin and an amazing set of teeth. When I first saw the teeth I thought a type of parrot fish but he has no scales. Anyone recognise

Hi mate,
Could not tell you its scientific name- but I know them as a member of the toad fish- stay away from those teeth for sure.
OH, and like all Toads, it's poisonous, so don't eat it, nothing to do with Parrot fish!
Smooth Golden Toadfish - as mentioned - poisonous

Thanks guys, we did wonder if it might be poisonous, he just didn't look appetising glad we put him back.
Next time you get one don't net it! I made that mistake and it bit through my net like it was cotton!
can bite right through hooks, and will easily take a finger off, had them attack and steal squid when bringing them in a few times too

If beef is in beef mince, What is in pet mince?
A toadie at 8 meters he must have been chasing a mermaid haha, usually these fish can be found in clean waterways hanging around wharfs and pilions and low shallow salt water creeks they are not shy to take your bait from hook either, we get some big ones down here in Sydney and if u aggravate them they blow up like a balloon and don't deflate untill they are out of harms way
