Hi all, thought i would share some pics of recent trips including rainbow beach fishing classic in july this year. The last 3 yrs myself and my wife have been taking our kids 9 and 7 and fishing the beach which they are having fun doing so whilst if the weather comes good i slip out with the boys for an overnighter. This year the weather was a bit all over the place so instead of doing o'nighters we did big day trips. 2 trips offshore and 660km travelled later we nailed the comp winning red and pearl perch and 2nd in sweetlip which seen smiles all round. Just before the comp i did a trip east of wide bay bar in search of some nice ground were we pulled a 12kg and a 13kg red on some new rubble found on the day so i was thinking this could be good for the july fishing comp, We crossed the bar at 2am and back at midnight both trips fishing non stop and travelling in search of MR red, first trip seen us bag some nice pearly's found on a patch of wire weed i ran over that morning which after the first drift we were thinking here we go,were on. Drift after drift later we could'nt even raise a nibble so we moved on and back to weigh in which seen us take the board and hold all week. 2nd trip i was thinking that wire weed has to hold some nice fish so travelled back out and once again drift after drift nothing until steve's rod loaded up to a nice red being up around a 15kg model. High fives all round and not another nibble saw us moving on. Through out the day we chipped away for some more nice reds to 11kg and sweetlip with some snapper thrown in as well. What a week and such a great event to catch up with every one as well. All fish are weighed in gutted and gilled, Red was 12.95kg and pearl perch went 4,55kg, Will be there again next year so come say g'day and have a beer.
