    Operating temp of V8 inboard

I've got a rebuilt Ford Windsor 351 V8, petrol in my boat and just wondering what could be considered as the "normal" operating temp at cruise settings of 3000 RPM.

PORT side is around 50 C with STBD 75 C. No idea why the difference as new impeller, RAW pump installed and heaps of salt water pouring through the inlet pipes.

    Thanks

Around 75 degrees when making power would be about normal.

My mercruisers run at around 71 degrees, being the t'stat temp.

switch your temp sensor wires to opposite sides of the motor and see if you get the same reading on your guages.
Unusual to get such large variances in temps in a warmed motor. If you have the same readings then investigate water flow on the hot side of the motor. Obviously a lack of flow on the hot side.......not what I would trust on a long offshore haul.
