    Transducer help

    Hi guys,

I have been been without a fishing boat for a couple of years but am now getting back with a new boat on order.

Electronics sure have have leaped forward while I have been away.

I have bought a Lowrance HDS12 Gen3 with the 3D structurescan but am unsure on the transducer in my package.

I initially thought that I should get an 83/200 but after talking to the sales guy he got me onto the one shown in the picture (50/200 455/800) Anyone have any experience in this area that they can share?

Most of my fishing would be no deeper than 100M, with the odd excursion out deeper when way out off 1770 etc.

    Thanks in advance,

    Darren

    Re: Transducer help

mate my opinion only - 83 / 200 bit better for the bay and rivers etc (shallower ) - 50 / 200 bit better for offshore ( deeper)- i have both mounted on my boat as i had both - but that one looks like the newer combo totalscan scanner with both structure and standard in the one unit and i have no exposure to it
    cheers
