Furuno 588 settings

Looking at installing a flush mounted furuno 588 with 1 kw transducer as part of a major upgrade to offshore vessel. Fishing generally under 60 meters but will run to the shelf occasionally to 600 meters.
Have used Lowrance for years but recent trips in a mates boat running Furuno have converted me. Will keep the 7 inch Lowrance gen 2 Chirp as a plotter and backup sounder but just can't the performance out of it I used to get from the older HDS model I ran in my last boat.
Anyone running the Furunos here? What has been the lived experience and what are the best default settings you would recommend.

Thanks for that mate. Have been looking all over you tube and the furuno reviews and couldn't find what I wanted. This is perfect.
