    Pearlies

With the great weather forecast on the weekend I decided to head out deep of the Coast to see if there were any Pearlies around. My neighbour has never been out so deep so he was in for a fun day and an early start.

Through the Seaway at 5.15amm with around 1000 boats and an hour later we were on the 50 fathom reefs and dropping a line. Conditions were ok with little swell but the breeze made it a little choppy.

First fish on board was a just under Snapper and then we lost two fish to sharks so moved further north a couple of kms.
Found some good fish on the bottom and the drift was not too bad (1.5kmh with the sea anchor out) so 12ov got us down towards them.

Brought fish in all day - most annoyingly 1 to 2 cms undersize but ended up with 7 keeper Pearlies, 2 Rosy Jobfish and sore shoulder and backs.
Run home was messy to start with as we had a NW wind and SE swell but improved the further we got back in culminating at a very flat Seaway on the way back in.

Some great whale action around as well with heaps of breeches and fin slapping.
