Hhow much recovery in the bay post trawling

I am wondering whether there has been a recovery of sea grass beds in the areas of the bay that are now no longer trawled.
And if anyone has noticed a change in fishing these areas.
Its been awhile since the trawlers were excluded , what has changed.

U.K. Results for scallop trawlers zones took 10 years before natural growth returned

You would think sea grass would grow faster than ten years

Except for flathead, apparently they arent scared off by nets!

Seriously though, the floods in 2011 and 2013 deposited 100-150mm of silt from the Lockyer Valley over the seagrass beds in the Bay and did more damage than the trawlers had ever done. And they have recovered magnificently, according to the experts.

So no reason to doubt that the areas previously trawled and closed 8 years ago wouldn't have returned to full health well and truly by now, subject to natural events such as those same floods.
Note to self: Don't argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience....

Since Australia is not in the UK and no scallop trawling done here in the Bay, plus completely different gear requirements, that comment is kind of totally irrelevant.

So, is everyone saying the fishing is no better than when the trawlers were working the area?

Yep the only thing that should have improved would have been winter whiteing and sand crabs as they were buy catch in the trawl nets and taken for sale.
