Any better satellite pictures than google maps

Noticed some time ago that the in water detail of Google Satellite has been blanking out. I used to do a lot of prospecting with this feature but now zilch clarity. Some one told me to use google earth but I find it the same. Any suggestions?

Nearmap used to be good, but I think they charge for it now.

If your in Qld download google maps pro and then link to the free "qld globe imagery". Heaps higher res and better than standard google.

Go back through the older dates and you will still find clear pics..

Pay for it and you will get better quality as well as up to date images. Near maps is better in Australia but once again you will need to pay an annual subscription. I remember building a temporary cabana for my daughters 21st in 2003 and it wasn't till 2009 before the image changed on the free version of Google maps.

Nearmap is dropping it's $100.00 per year option.......those with it will be asked to upgrade to a commercial subscription.

Qld Globe is the easiest of the better resolution imagery available for nicks......there are a few others though which you pay a subscription for.

thats how I do it too.
In Google Earth,
View>Historical Images
then use the slide bar to see old dates.

very helpful for seeing sandbars at high and low tides.
