Gold Coast 36s Yesterday
Took advantage of the great weather and headed out to the South 36's yesterday off the Gold Coast. Had a brief look at the 24s on the way out and didn't see much on the sounder then headed wider in very calm conditions - I have seen the bay with more swell than yesterday.
Picked up two Pearlies a fraction undersized off the first patch of fish we found and then had to really hunt around for them but ended up with 2 Pearlies (wife very happy), 3 Snapper, 1 Tuskfish, 1 Morwong and a Cobia which was a nice surprise.
Fish were all caught of bottom bashers using squid - no luck on the float lines except for the Cobia that took a big squid head.
Great fishing with little current and there were plenty of fish on the sounder but they were not overly hungry allot of the time.
Mate caught a large and very angry Moray Eel that promptly tried to attack him when he tried to de hook it - very funny to watch.
Good day out and a nice feed to boot so no complaints here

Always gold when it happens to someone else.
