    Re: Whiting reports wanted

Greg I was out today (Friday) found the whiting to be scarce. Fished near the Naval Reserve beacon, edge of Small Ships gutter, Chain Banks, top of Rous, Reeders Point on Moreton and back to the banks east of Peel for two whiting.

I was thinking about going out tomorrow, but long way from Woody point for just a few.

I dont think the Rous has really started yet, from what i read.

Always use to get ur 50 in couple hours.

    Thanks for letting me know

    cheers

    pics don't work Steven
mate caught them at rouse week before when I was on a cruise, but on Friday at the rouse they were missing
did your father get them down vic point area or up closer to rouse area?
I have found over decades of fishing, whiting can be there one day in abundance and got the next, bar the odd ting

    Re: Whiting reports wanted

I've bagged out, or near enough, the last dozen trips to the Little Ships for whiting but they were hard work yesterday.
Couldn't get a scale at the Little Ships all the way down to the Naval Reserve Banks. DID get some monsters further up the Rous but not in numbers and VERY patchy. Went over to the banks between the Green lead in the Rous and Fishermans Gutter and they were a bit thicker but very average in size compared to the Rous. Still got a good feed, but it wasn't easy.
ps. Jigged up some nice squid too.

    Re: Whiting reports wanted

Thanks Pete I went out with the neighbor a couple of weeks ago and could not find the whiting. Tried all the spots you mentioned and a few more. I could not believe it as we normally get quite a few.
