    Somerset Red Claw secrets?

    Hi all,

Fished Somerset a few times with pretty ordinary results. I hear reports of large numbers getting caught during the day, however my better catches have been at night!
Does anyone have a preferred Moon phase or conditions for catching Red Claw?

Planning on taking the kids up there soon and it would be good to catch a few to keep them keen - they love Red Clawing but loose interest when catching zip.

    Cheers

    Richo

mate ive chased redclaw there many times and have found catching them during the day nearly impossible. Overnight is always good. I always stick to the trees in less than 2mtrs of water, never really fails. Just gotta try find patches of sticks away from the hundreds of other floats, thats the tough part.
Doubt moon would play much of a part, but they defintely fire up after a few solid days of rain.
Rockmelon for bait. dont bother using anything else as it always does the job
Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.
