Caught this one in 200m off Port Macquarie.

Could that surprised look be because of where it seems Benno's little finger is inserted?
I seem to remember having the same look when my doc checked my prostate!

The medico's 'prostate' story goes:
"Two mates in the right age group were advised they needed a prostate check, but had been told what was involved and didn't fancy it. Eventually one plucked up the courage, and as soon as he got home his mate wanted to know what was involved. The 'checkkee' said "I dunno why we were worried, it wasn't all that bad. He pulled on some some rubber gloves, got me to bend over, and then he put his left hand on my left shoulder and put his right finger in, - no hang on' he put his right hand on my right shoulder, and his left - hang on -
the b*gger - he had both hands on both shoulders!"

Don't think so Phil - tail is all wrong. Found one picture of a Eastern Orange Perch that had the dark blotch to the dorsal as well but even that didn't look 100%

It's a Longfin Perch guys, catch a few down this way. Male and female look like completely different species.

I think it's a Sunrise Perch.

It is a Lonfin Perch and a pretty good one at that.
They are very common along that part of the coast, eapecially on the shelf off Hat Head

Not a Pigfish, but certainly looks like a Long Fin Perch, we get them here too, the fish in the picture is just kind of bent making it look more round shaped rather than more cylindrical.
