I have written a comprehensive paper on this, see this link, it tells you everything you need to know, including photos and diagrams:

Any questions after that to clarify, feel free to PM me. You will need to join Dropbox to get the document, bit its free and easy to do.

There is however one important issue to note: by not having any Suzuki gauges (analogue or digital) on your boat, you will not get the engine fault codes and things like the oil change reminders - to get these, you need to install a Suzuki engine warning panel - a simple panel that incorporates the warning lights normally found on the bottom of the Suzuki analogue tacho. Without having this functionality, you are likely to have warranty issues.

    Pretty simple.

Purchase the Suzuki Outboard Engine Interface Cable (Lowrance/Navico distribute them to retailers) and purchase the Lowrance NMEA 2000 starter kit. Follow the instructions [http://www.lowrance.com/Global/Lowra...onnection.pdf] and voila. Everything can be bought online through companies such as CHSmith marine or Regal Marine (chocolatemoose will no doubt post soon). As long as you have a Lowrance HDS Gen 2 or Gen 3 it will work.

Just connect the interface cable to the SDS port on the engine using the adapter cable. Then to the network T piece. The lights and tacho will still work fine. Good luck, let me know if you run into any problems.
