18/2/16 Northern Bay
4.30am start with couple of local fishing celebrities; Peter (raibowrunner) and Matt Price the Royal Slammer.
Plan was to fish till lunch time in calm variable 5knts prediction and return early before 20knts wind change.
Sea was more average than expected at 10-15knts all morning
First spot, few drifts, no bait around but some minor tuna surface action, hardly any bird working.
Spent an hour with no results.
Change to second spot where we found the bait.
First drift and missed a good couple of bites on surface and down deep, then up comes a 4.9kgs nanny for Matt.
Second drift, missed another good bite on surface, than up comes slightly smaller nanny for Peter.
Few more drifts and bait is all gone, next 3 dolphins moved in so we had to move closer to island.
Tried beacons, No luck for the next couple hours while we having lunch.
Returned back to second spot, good play size hammerhead landed.
Another mother-in-law fish seen the deck also.
Blowing 20knts by lunchtime, returned to base.
Great to be out finally after a long windy weeks, fish for dinner.
Great company with friends as usual.
No fish for Max The Turk,
