    Beach worm preserving and bait

So I went and gathered a few beach worms down the Goldie this arvo. Have tried a few different ways to preserve them, metho, salt etc. just wondering what people's preferred method of preserving is and if they are rated as a summer whiting bait in and around the Broadwater/ Nerang area.
I also cryovaced a few straight up today to try out later.
    cheers

Do a search, plenty of info. I personally soak them in metho, dry them with paper towel and freeze them like that. Works well and still works as bait well.

Just freeze them fresh, they come out OK, tried Metho and all sorts of ways, but fresh frozen is easy, quick and they defrost like new.

I like to freeze them fresh leave a light coating of sand on them add some fine salt (table salt ) a generous amount , they come out looking like fresh only tougher, stay on the hook better than fresh, I have had good results on whiting in the surf with this method .

This is infallible for both beach and blood worms, been using it for over twenty years, works on pillies and most anything!

    1. Lay the worms on some concrete or timber
    2. Liberally cover them with coarse salt, swimming pool salt is best
    3. Leave about 15 minutes - the salt sucks out the moisture
    4. Shake to remove the excess salt but not all of it
    5. Place them between several layers of newspaper sheets
    6. Leave for 15 minutes
    7. Place about a dozen of them in a zippy bag
    8. Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and mix them around in it
    9. Shape the bag flat (not all the worms in a big ball)
    10. Place in fridge anywhere but DO NOT FREEZE

They will last up to three months easily.
Check them occasionally and if appearing to dry out, add more oil!
