    Brisbane River picnic spot

    Hi All,

I hope this is the correct place for this question - if not I apologise...

I have recently taken over my fathers 3.9m tinnie with 30hp, and am thinking of running up the Brisbane river (or other close river - calm water) on Australia Day with some friends for a BBQ / Picnic.

Can anyone suggest any good accessible spots to stop for a few hours?

    Ern..

Depends on where you want to start from. Ls of parks and ramps along the river with BBQ's etc.

Probably all be busy on Australia day though!

    Thanks Feral,

Thinking of putting in up the river a bit (Graceville area or somewhere)...

If you just want a short run to wet the keel Sherwood Forest is just around the bend, nice platform you can tie up to. Lovely picnic grounds.
I dont know the parks upstream of there until you get to Kookaburra, which is a big haul from there.

Nice park at Jindalee boat ramp. Not sure if the pontoon is still there though.
