Not a bad finish to the day well done.
We headed to the cape to try for some Marlin or mahi mahi after leaving Wynnum at 4am we were fishing in 80-100m for nothing until 9am.
so change of plan in closer to hutchies for some mackerel could see them we were trolling and floating for a couple of hours for sip.
I was thinking I was getting a donut but then I found a school right at the cape in 22m
we could see the mackerel trailing the lures and nothing so the frustration was getting high
last attempt unweighted pilly in umugst a couple of cut up ones thrown over at the same time
then finally on the elation big head shakes and a cracking snappa was boated 93cm
My mate was saying I got to get one of them so we reset the drift and would you believe it he hooked up and after a good fight a 75cm hit the deck
no mackerel but a good day and feed for the family thanks for reading
happy days ahead summer is coming

You're not supposed to catch snapper in the middle of the day in summer in the shallows. Well done for turning a donut into a memorable trip
I agree with Jeremy - that could not have happened
Thanks for sharing - a good read
Cheers

yea it was quite disturbing to know my pb snappa came in summer but ill take it
happy days ahead summer is coming
Well done mate, trolling around Moreton seemed pretty slow that day, so good choice in putting the lures away.
