    Scarborough reef mackeral?

Hi all, I'm fairly new to fishing Northern Moreton bay and am getting a bit confused with all the media reports. Can you help?
I keep reading about all the mackerel in the passage but haven't seen any when I've tried there. I was wondering what are the chances of getting some around Scarborough Reef as I was thinking of trying there next weekend if the wind works for me, what is the best tide etc. is it worth a go?
    thanks

Uncommon catches at Scarby reef and in the passage.
Mackeral might scoot thru scarby reef area every few days over a period of about 6-8 weeks.
You would have to be lucky to target macks there and get them in the esky.
    Jack.

If it's mackerel in "Pumicestone Passage" then they could be around the marker at the southern end of Bribie Island.

i get the odd one fishing redcliffe area through feb - may. Head wider of Scarby to the Pearl Channel, can be red hot out there for macks
Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.
