    Re: 2016. Annual Ausfish Agnes Water / 1770 M & G.

The Event management will be slightly different this year than last.

The usual suspects will take place:-

1........... Tavern Night ( 9th Sept ) where we meet up with newbies and catch up will oldies Treats will be on offer.

2........... The Cook-Off.. This event date is TBA. It will be on an arvo that is not conducive to fishing.

3.......... Presentation .... We will hold this on the Friday arvo / evening 16th. There is NO competition, but awards of various descriptions will be handed out to very deserving people. All going well, we ( Ausfish, Committee of Greatness ) will provide celebratory drinkies etc.

4...... Fishing and Socializing. Good luck and Tight Lines in the fishing area.... please log on and off with VMR and be aware of QF&B patrol and regs. Socializing is up to you, stay safe and utilize Tavern Courtesy Bus or Agnes taxi.

If anyone has any questions, no matter how trivial, please call me or pm me or ask here.

Woo Hoo... 2 weeks today until we gather at the Land of Dreams.

IF anyone has any questions at all, please ask now.

    ausfish01@optusnet.com.au or 0419 020697

Most of us will be at the Tavern on Friday night 9th. An early start ensures plenty of lubrication to sooth the dry throat of extended conversation.

For those that ordered shirts.... I will have them at hand. These can be collected from me at " Mojoes ", 5 Waterfront Drive from about 1pm Friday , but.. BUT.. call me first.

I believe I have everyone's mobile number, if not, make sure I get it.

Events of the week will be made known by text message or our dedicated Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/ausfishagneswater/

Some of us have Ausfish stickers on our cars and boats... but to make it easier to spot each other... attach a small Aussie flag to your boat aerial or car aerial....

I will post up daily weather reports on the FB page similar to the one below.

Are there any more reports on the depth of the entrance? Looks like some nasty rock work happening there lately..

Would one of the 1770 regulars mind putting a map up of the best route through the channel / bar? First timer....

Best way is to go for a run on a shitty day and plot your own course. If youre driving up friday put it in in the arvo and go for a look.

    Re: 2016. Annual Ausfish Agnes Water / 1770 M & G.

Despite the photo of damaged prop elsewhere in cyber-forums, the issue is only depth.

    The siltation is sand.

In my experience and what I will do the first time out on Friday or saturday... will be to travel close to the sand bar on the port side after passing Monument Point... then cut in front of the green buoy as close as possible.

map attached. DO NOT USE THE MAP TO NAVIGATE.

I will however take advice from the VMR and Haydn.

The thing in our favour is the tides.

Most of us will be departing and returning about 1/2 tide and it is not until about Wednesday when the really low tides appear.
