    Definitely is. Actually not unusual to get reefies in the rivers up there. My missus once hooked and subsequently lost boat side a legal pearl perch in the Mooloola River while fishing for bream. Personally I suspect that quite a few of them come home in live bait tanks and then get released.

    For sure they are caught in places now that you could never catch them once.

    ive heard of them caught in the maroochy. Been a few in the pine also last couple years
    Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.

    Snapper are not uncommon in rivers, even quite legal size are pretty common, nothing unusual about it, small Snapper spend a lot of their life in creeks and rivers.

    Thanks guys my mate told me it was a tarwhine but i was not convinced. I'm surprised to catch my first snapper in the maroochy river. It doesn't seem all that healthy but has some good fish none the less. Cheers .
