depends if you in northern australia or southern australia.
I'd go a halco scorpion either case, but it would be a 45mm one down south, 60 or 80mm one up north.
Hi All,
Do you know those times when you are travelling along the highway or on country roads? And you drive past a river or creek you have a quick glance at the water?
Well, what would be a reasonable all-round lure if you were to pull over and have a quick cast?
Cheers, Pauly

Salt or fresh?
Carry spinnerbaits for the fresh.
Squidgy wriggler 100mm or similar and some jig heads - don't "hurt" as much when you snag em up and catch a ridiculous range of species. Fishing off the wall in Onslow WA, the list read - trevally, queenfish, school mackerel (lots of luck not to get bitten off), cod, flathead, bream and pike/barracouta???. At home in Brissy - bream, flathead, morwong, sweetlip and snapper. As much as it does pain me contributing to Mr Starling's coffers - these things do catch fish.
i do that sometime when i drive brissy to sydney.. always stop every 3hrs.. find some water and relax for a hr before going on, im normally use a prawn lure
