Well done Rosco! I missed not chasing snapper this yr
cheers bull
took a mate out to the 33's yesterday for a snapper fish...after the past couple of months running around chasing pearlies and tuskies with some good trips and some very ordinary ones it was time to go back to the normal haunt and put some fish in the box.we hit the bar with just enough light to see and well there was nothing flat as a tack..we headed to the southern 33's to a mark what normally has good fish this time of year but after 2 drifts we and no bait lost I though this is going to be a long day...I looked at the drift lines and picked an area about 150mtrs away what fishes well on the drift we had and boy did the fish turn it on.not huge fish but between 44cm and 68 cm are a great plate size fish...we had our bag by 7.30-8..we got busted off by some cracker fish but you don't get them all up....we went out to 35's looking for a pearlie or 10 but could only manage 2 keepers around 40 cm.great day out with glassed out conditions around lunch time....whales put on a great show which topped off a great day...pulled my pots on the way home for a feed of sandies again, finnished with 25 for the weekend.couple of pics of the shows we pulled fish off

Not a bad feed Rosco... Snapper, sandies and Pearlies... Might have to learn how to catch a few squid and prawns and you'll have the best Seafood platter going around!!!
squid are easy enough mate but prawns I might struggle with.cannot throw a cast net real well

Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck.
Well done rosco1974 thanks for the report, you guys sure got a nice feed there mate and it looks like it was a cracker of a day. I'm looking forward to getting a few pots into the water when I fly home next week to see if I can get a feed for the missus.

Nice mate!! Is that first shot of the Furuno showing snapper over a large bait ball with a smaller bait ball hugging the bottom to the left?
