Yes. I agree. Recreational fishing creates more jobs and is better for the economy than net fishing.

How is the coral mining/marina proposal for Toondah going?

Hi Ray. I still don't have an issue with fishing there - is that what you meant? But not my decision - never was. Don Brown needs to push it if his electorate & his Govt. keep me posted how I can support

    On another note:
The new pontoon at the Williams Street/VMR Ramp should make a lot of people happy. Especially the crew members trying to hold the boats on the "beach". Good to see some infrastructure for boaties out of all the registration fees.

    Thanks Bob Pendrey

This is just a dirty, slimy little political grab for a few votes. Liberal or ALP ,both political parties are the same , neither of you mob give a thought to individuals only yourselves . You only come out of the woodwork when you smell a few votes. Obviously the threat of evil commercial net fisherman is far greater than crime, drugs ,terrorism or the economy .

Why didn't you do this while in government Mark? Not on Little Hitler's radar back then hey?

Re: Call for Net-Free zones for Moreton Bay

I am all for no net fishing zones around Moreton Bay. Particularly on Moreton Island where the benefits of tourism greatly outweigh the benefits of commercial net fishing. It was a pitty that there was not enough support when we had the petition against net fishing going.

Positions in government should never be given to those who seek them. The representative should be dragged to office against his will. ...don't blame me...I voted for Jethro Q Walustittie...

Re: Call for Net-Free zones for Moreton Bay

“Unfortunately, the Labor Government’s approach to rolling out similar zones in Central and North Queensland has not been well-handled and has upset many people. I call on the Government to consider Moreton Bay but to handle it better.

This is a quote from your own site that you managed to fix the link to , unfortunately your not responsible or a representative of the fishing population but do tell how YOU will do it better ? I await your response and an answer as to how YOU will do anything worthwhile that is any better than what LABOR are actually doing ,maybe SCOTTO can weigh in on this discussion as well . Matt
