    Overnighter 25/26 off Moreton

Spent the night offshore last Saturday with a mate. Never seen it so flat out there. Fished in 70m from 2 until 8pm. No wind, swell or current. Fishing was slow but we got our bag and a few keepers thrown back. The snapper ranged from 47 to 55cm. Went in to 50m and anchored for the night to find the current running a bit too quick to fish at anchor so called it a night. Got up before sun up and went to the 33's, as did everyone else by the looks of it. Hung around Straddies shallower reef so my mate could use his plastics but too mNy boats and no fish. I saved a spot in the bag for a big snapper over 70 but he never turned up, hence only keeping 7 fish and releasing keepers.
Couldn't have asked for better weather but as they say, " no run no fun".

Plastics fantastic but bait is better.

    Hey Finicky,

    Tasty catch there.

Yep it was a cracker Saturday night, we were off the cape and got rocked to sleep due to lack of current and interest.

Sunday morning was a different story at Wide Caloundra with 2-3 knots of current with the wind behind it and near unfishable but got a few.

Hopefully tomorrow is better but don't like NW winds as a rule..

    Cheers

    Scoota...
